Calorie and macro targets, meal and training suggestions, food recognition, label reading, pantry dates, and restaurant customizations are informational estimates. Nutrition sources and AI output may be incomplete, incorrect, or outdated. Check portions, units, ingredients, and the actual product label before saving or relying on an entry. Ingredient deductions and substitutions are estimates unless the app identifies published nutrition for that exact option. The app does not guarantee worldwide catalog completeness or exact nutrition from a photo.
Confirm allergens and preparation with the manufacturer or restaurant; a filter is not an allergy-safety guarantee. Pantry reminders and date estimates cannot establish whether food is safe to eat. Follow the product's storage and safety instructions. The app is not a medical device and does not diagnose, prescribe, or treat any condition. Consult a qualified clinician about medical diets, medication, pregnancy, or individual health concerns.
Health access and location are optional. Apple Health and Health Connect access is read-only; imported Health records remain on the device rather than account sync. Nearby and routing features transmit coordinates to mapping services when used. Barcode and product searches contact the catalog service and, where enabled, public food-data sources. Label and receipt recognition processes source photos on-device, while reviewed food and grocery data can sync. Private progress photos and profile avatars have different sharing behavior. Food data includes USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts contributors. The Open Food Facts database is available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. These community records may be incomplete; check the actual product label.
The catalog combines brand nutrition publications, public and community food databases, and clearly labeled estimates. Menu selections, preparation, portions, prices, and availability can differ by country and restaurant. An entry or logo does not imply a partnership or endorsement by that brand. Your custom foods and recipes remain private account content unless you independently export or share them. Basic food logging, food browsing, restaurant browsing, and barcode lookup do not require a paid subscription.
Where offered, Premium is an auto-renewing monthly or annual subscription. The purchase screen and store confirmation show the current localized price, billing period, included features, and any trial available to your account. Do not assume a free trial: eligibility and offer availability are determined by the store or checkout provider. RevenueCat validates and restores mobile subscription access.
On iPhone, payment is charged to your Apple account. The subscription renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends; renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the end of that period. A trial, when offered, converts to the displayed paid plan unless canceled before its stated deadline. Manage or cancel in iPhone Settings → your Apple account → Subscriptions. Android subscriptions, where available, are managed in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Restore Purchases checks the purchases available to the current store account; it does not create a new purchase.
Website subscriptions, when available, use Stripe checkout after sign-in and can be managed through the billing portal. Check your existing subscription before buying on another platform so you do not pay twice. Uninstalling the app or deleting a MealMacroCoach account does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription. Refunds and cancellations are handled under the applicable store or payment terms and any mandatory consumer rights. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
You can use the local diary without an account. Account sync, Friends, and eligible server-backed Premium features require sign-in. Keep your credentials private and provide an email you control. You are responsible for the accuracy and permitted use of content you enter. The Friends feature makes a limited profile discoverable to signed-in users who know your account email; read the Privacy Policy before choosing a name or avatar. The app is not directed at children under 13.
The optional AI meal coach sends a limited question and nutrition-target summary to our backend and OpenAI. Do not enter confidential information you do not want sent to those services. Generated answers require your review and are not professional medical advice. Online features depend on connectivity, provider availability, and reasonable usage limits. Offline suggestions may be used when the online coach is unavailable.
Deleting the app or clearing browser site data removes local storage, subject to separate backups. Without an account sync copy or your own export, we cannot restore lost data. Signing out does not delete your local diary or cloud account. You can delete your active account and cloud diary from You → Account → Delete account and diary. Manage store subscriptions separately before deleting an account.
Do not misuse accounts, interfere with service availability, bypass access controls or usage limits, harass other users, or upload content you have no right to use. Respect the licenses and attribution requirements of third-party data. These terms do not restrict rights granted by an applicable open-data or open-source license.
The app is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not promise uninterrupted service, complete catalogs, exact estimates, or recovery of unbacked-up local data. This disclaimer applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law and does not limit mandatory consumer rights.
